What is Right?

1. National Interest: Any news of national importance. Mostly security, foreign affairs, political developments, parliamentary work etc. This need not be partisan. Besides any issue concerning the SAARC countries or 'Akhand Bharat' from Indus to Mekong are in our national interest. We support Tibet's independence and democracy in Burma and take note of the freedom movements in Kashmir, Baluchistan, Baltistan and Pakthunkhwa.

2. Integral Humanism: This mostly concerns how private individuals/NGOs are contributing to make this world a better place. Nanaji Deshmukh's (former Jan Sangh/RSS leader who now runs Chitrakoot, a self-sufficient village) work is a good example.

3. Laissez faire: This means economy run on free market principles. Classical liberal ideas put forth by Fredrick Hayek, Milton Freedman etc. Conservatives support liberalization, less government, moderate taxes, low interest rates etc. In general Government should not be doing too many things. We are not slaves of the government.

4. Indian Union: Promoting Federalism. We are the Indian union of linguistic and cultural nation states. We promote Panchayati Raj and decentralization of power.

4. Civil Liberties: Any issue that concerns peoples individual lives. Uniform Civil code for example concerns people's marraige, divorce, adoption, inheritance etc. Article 370, Gay rights, religious conversions, abortions, dalit rights etc are also part of this. Citizens have to be protected from the State.

5. Green Conservatism - Conservation is synonymous with Conservatism. We support any initiative that conserves nature and wildlife. Global warming is not a hoax. And in anycase, citizens deserve a clean and pristine environment.

6. Dharma: Preserving religions and ancient wisdom is one of the conservative principles. Indians especially can gain from several centuries of human endeavor to understand nature and life.

7. Global right: There are conservative parties across the world. Republicans in US, Tories in UK, Sarkozy's UMP in France, Angela Merkel's CDU in Germany, Likud in Israel, Nawaz Sharif's PML in Pakistan, Ranil Wickramasinge's UNP in Lanka etc. Besides there are several rightwing think tanks. CATO, Bow Group, AEI, Copenhagen Institute etc. We support a one-state solution in Israel/Palestine.
